Summary/Abstract: The author presents the subject and scope of the right of a patient and his or her relatives to medical information based on legal provisions as well as numerous decisions of the Supreme Court and courts of appeal. He also points to the patient’s right to compensation for the harm suffered in the case of violation of the right to medical information by a doctor (medical institution) even if the patient has not suffered any harm (pursuant to art. 4 of the Act on Patient’s Rights and art. 448 of the Civil Code).
