Summary/Abstract: ADELL Mixer and Valve Co. ‘Water of Life’ special collection within the body of the museum was renewed as Istanbul Water Museum (İSUM) by changing its name with 62 in the Museum authorization certificate given by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in January 2021. Located in Istanbul Başakşehir, the museum, which houses Roman Period, Ottoman Period and Byzantine Period artifacts within a closed area of approximately 1000 square meters, has approximately 1,500 works belonging to water and water culture in Istanbul. The 122 textile works in the collection are urban embroideries covering the 18th and 19th centuries; Istanbul and Bursa regions are the majority. These examples have general characteristics in terms of technique, color, pattern and form reflecting the periods they belong to. The scope of museum studies storage of textile works, conservation and exposition studies are carried out.
