What to feed the student’s mind with – a few words about effective feedback for online education

Summary/Abstract: Properly communicated feedback is the key to a learner’s success. The article presents some differences between online and traditional education and the importance of feedback in online learning as an element compensating the lack of opportunity to meet in a real-life situation. The concept of success criteria is also analysed as their knowledge increases students’ security and helps to build good relations between a student and a teacher. The paper also provides some insights into factors that contribute to the success of good feedback reception by the student. The information on digital audio, written and video feedback tools, along with tips on what to be careful about when creating are cording and how to introduce providing feedback to the students from other students is provided. Automatic feedback tools that students can use on their own or in combination with teacher-provided feedback are also reviewed.
