Teachers’ feedback in French as a foreign language online classes – insights from interaction analysis

Summary/Abstract: This study revolves around teachers’ feedback in a French as a foreign language classroom. The participants of the study conducted by the author were a group of French learners in a Polish secondary school. The analysed classes were conducted online during the COVID-19 epidemic. The lessons were recorded and the interactive processes which occurred between the teacher and the students were studied. It is argued that online teaching greatly impacts the way language lessons are conducted and increases the amount of teacher’s feedback necessary to ensure efficient classroom communication.
