Summary/Abstract: We perform a comparative study of the culturological characteristics of closely related languages through associative connexions which exist in the minds of their speakers and are registered in lexicographic sources. We examine the stimulus ‘bread’, which is one of the most important European and global culturally marked concepts. Our work addresses Bulgarian and Ukrainian in a broader comparison to Belarusian and Russian.
