Analysis of the performance of investment funds during the COVID-19 pandemic

Summary/Abstract: The pandemic period was a novelty for the entire global economy, triggering a complex crisis. The issue of the resistance of economic agencies to the disruptive factors of the crisis and to the capacities of the intervention authorities was raised. The year 2020 marked unusual volatilities on the capital markets, with the sharp fall in the prices of financial instruments in the first part of the year. Then, with the intervention of the authorities, the return of prices and even their speculative increase is felt. In this sense, this paper is a study on investment funds in Romania, these being the main investment vehicles on the local market, through which we wanted to determine the performance of investment funds and the influence of certain economic indicators on performance in 2020 compared to 2019.
