Summary/Abstract: The first festival of women's political art – PitchWise (September 2006) - has taken place in the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, organised by the Cure ("GIRLS") Foundation. In course of four days, PitchWise has provided a varied arts program, including performances, exhibitions, concerts, poetry reading, arts workshops and everything else linked to activism in the service of human rights. The intention was to create a platform, which would link artists from B-H, southeastern Europe and the whole world who are ready to advocate social change. The festival is based upon the idea that the transforming power of art can move an individual to make the necessary changes in their life, but also in the surroundings. It is intended for those who will rather search for inspiration and strength in a process which brings change by itself, than wait around for a dramatic transformation.
