Espionage and counterespionage. An unseen world

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, espionage is used by almost all states in order to determine military and political intentions of the opponents as well as the location and projects of military hardware. Everywhere around the world spies are used to collect sensitive information about hostile or untrustworthy states, being hunted by the enemies, in what is called counterintelligence. This old game of chasing information and spies becomes today more and more interesting due to the new methods and devices. In this context, regulating peacetime espionage at international level is unlikely because of the sensitive issues involved, therefore espionage remains a field of shadows, full of mysteries and puzzles.
