Summary/Abstract: Planning and direction involves management of the entire intelligence effort, from identifying the need for data to delivering an intelligence product to a consumer. That is the entire process depends on guidance from the consumer the end user of the intelligence.Information planning is often a neglected area, but it is a process of ongoing cost-effectiveness assessment that seeks to find the most effective means of obtaining information.At national level planning in the area of information gathering on a given domain should allow for a controlled overlap between the missions of the various intelligence services, as well as the completion between them, depending on the accessible collection environments. The development of effective planning methods tailored to the nature and evolution of threats to national security is the permanent task of planning structures in the composition of intelligence organizations.
