Summary/Abstract: ISR is a wide variety of systems for acquiring and processing information in order to provide actionable information needed by national security decision makers and military commanders. ISR consists into a set of capabilities that integrates in a synchronized way the collection capabilities with those specific to the intelligence cycle: processing, exploitation, and dissemination of end products to provide direct support for planning, preparedness and conduct of operations. Through ISR, the collection of information is accomplished by assigning tasks specific to each field. This is a complex process involving five steps: burden sharing, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination. If the surveillance activity is passive, the Reconnaissance is an active one, fast and targeted in order to obtain specific target information.
