Summary/Abstract: The last year was marked by periods of restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The trade is one of strongly affected economic activities in particular the work organization of the retail sales premises for non-food items. An attempt to identify the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the use of commercial areas is made in this article. Based on the secondary information of the National Statistical Institute’ surveys, the retail sales’ indices in particular in the trade of non-food items are brought out. The secondary data of the leading consultancy companies in the field of real estate are also used in particular about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the use of commercial areas. Conclusions and trends are drawn as a result of temporary restrictive measures imposed in the activity of the retail sales premises for non-food items based on the analysis of the second information.
