ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT FIGHT AGAINST THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN SWEDEN –RESOURCES, ACTIVITIES, RESULTS

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess theeffectiveness of managing a crisis situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden in the period from March 2020. The so-called Swedish wayofdealing with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The content of the article deals with selectedformal, legal, social andeconomic conditions before and after March 2020. The actions implemented at the beginning and in the following months of the COVID-19 pandemic are characterized, alongwith an assessment oftheir effectiveness. In order to conduct the research, selecteddescriptive and explanatory methods were used, including in particular interpretative, analytical, cause-effect and comparative methods. Thebasic technique used was thecollection and analysis of secondary data of selected economic and social indicators.The conclusions drawn on the basis of the conducted re-search clearly indicate that the program to combatthe SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus imple-mentedin Swedenis effective. Nevertheless, its comprehensive implementation in anoth-er country, especially in Poland, would be a definite failure.
