Summary/Abstract: Music therapy is the clinical use of music and sounds within the context of a therapeutic relationship with a trained professional. The goal of music therapy is to enhance the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well being of the child, thereby increasing their quality of life. At an early age, one of the basic conditions for child’s development is to provide stimuli that are strong enough and comprehensible to the child. In music therapy music serves as one of these stimuli. Through it, it is possible to elicit various reactions in the child and to create conditions to establish a therapeutic relationship and following intervention. The aim of this paper is to present the various ways in which music therapy can be used in early childhood intervention to achieve these goals.
