Summary/Abstract: Rev. Juliusz Bursche, (1862-1942) the leading figure of 20th-century Polish Protestantism, experienced various vicissitudes. Much has been written about his activity and views, several biographies devoted to him have been published, dozens of articles have been published, but not all moments of his life have been properly presented, certainly the years of the First World War were among them. He traveled then, usually not of his own free will, half of Europe. During that time he has been to Austria-Hungary, Romania, Russia, Finland and Sweden. He did not return to Warsaw until February 1918. However we do not know much, on what he did in Moscow or Stockholm if he did his pastoral work there is unclear. It is to be hoped that this significant gap in our hero's biography will be filled based on previously unknown materials.
