Summary/Abstract: The present article offers some of the first findings about the lexical availability of the Mexican immigrants living in Granada, Spain of the center of interest clothing. The main objective of this dissertation that is being elaborated is to study the process of lexical adaptation of one Spanish speaking community to another one, in this case is the Mexican variety of Spanish and the variety spoken in Granada, Andalusia. The results differ according to the socio-linguistic variables: sex, family life, age, and length of stay in Granada. In the first sample, it has been discovered that the variables age and length of stay are the most influential in the lexicon.
