Summary/Abstract: Texts accompanied by images were in high demand ever since the XVIth-XVIIth centuries mainly due to people’s curiosity: the image might have been a substitute for travel, allowing visualisation of some places. In the collections of the National Museum of Unification Alba Iulia are found several representations – preserved both in old books but also stand-alone engravings - of some cities from the Romanian area: Alba Iulia, Blaj, Cluj-Napoca, Brașov, Târgoviște, Oradea or Timișoara.
