Summary/Abstract: One of the central themes in Hegel’s philosophy is the development of the world spirit throughout the history. Religion is one of the forms of that development, and Hegel extensively deals with the position of individual religions in the development of the spirit. This article aims to shed light on some of He¬gel’s reflections when it comes to Islam. How does Hegel view the position of Islam in world history? How to interpret Hegel’s inconsistency and ambiguity on some issues related to Islam? How to understand Hegel’s views on Islam in the contemporary context and in relation to inter-philosophical dialogue. These are the main issues addressed in this text.
