Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to analyze modern tendencies of the development of the live-action puppet art that are connected with the involvement of expressive means of different kinds of stage art in the conceptual solution of the performances, various numbers and other forms of stage shows with a puppet, and to determine the spectrum of necessary modernization of a modern puppeteer`s artistic techniques for existing in new stage situations. Particular consideration requires stage shows with a live-action puppet as they are on the border of different kinds and genres of art and synthesize them. The methodology of the research consists of the application of the historic-cultural methods, methods of system analysis, analogy, comparison and opposition to analyze the latest technologies of the live-action puppet art, their historical formation in the conditions of combination with related stage arts. The scientific novelty of the article is in the examination of new forms of implementation of the live-action puppet art, especially in stage numbers, according to the synthesis of stage and circus genres in them and in the attempt to define the necessary professional skills for the realization of such stage products by the actor. Conclusions. To realize scenic practice in the conditions of new requirements, a modern puppeteer, besides the skills to manipulate different systems of live-action puppets and the knowledge of the drama actor performance laws, should master the major expressive means of ballet, pantomime, ventriloquist techniques, circus, and stage specializations. It is also necessary to systematize and generalize the experience of actor`s practices in modern puppet theatre that will facilitate to reveal the synthesis of different trends in puppet theatre and at the same time preserves the gist of the puppet coming to life.
