Summary/Abstract: Parulskis and Stasiuk had a similar experience, which can be found in the prose debuts of both writers. They encountered extremely brutal reality of military barracks and prison. This article discuss in what way these experiences that formed young artisz have been transposed into their literature – what are their representations in Parulskis’s Three Seconds of Heaven (Trys sekundės dangaus) and Stasiuk’s short stories collection The Walls of Hebron (Mury Hebronu). The comparison of these works serves to show how personal experiences of the authors are exploited and processed in texts, and to find out how above mentioned Lithuanian and Polish works are related.
