Summary/Abstract: The text presents the phenomenological foundation of the epistemology of interculturality and indicates the importance of phenomenology for social epistemology. Waldenfels’ understanding of phenomenology as philosophy of experience and views of philosophy in the perspective of its impact on social reality is especially emphasized. In this sense, the epistemology of interculturality is presented as an expression of the active thought and the power of philosophy to establish the social meaning of reality, explain relations within networks of lifeworlds and show the real consequences of the spirit on social phenomena.
