Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the Vasa buildings in Vilnius not in the context of their architecture but their ideological content. The importance of the Vasa investments resulted from the Jagiellonian tradition of taking care of the city and the place that Vilnius occupied in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
