Summary/Abstract: This paper describes in detail the research and conservation - restoration works on the bronze sculpture of Gregory of Nin in Split that were executed in the period 2013 – 2020. The last conservation and restoration works on the sculpture were carried out in November and December of 2020. The investor was the City of Split, and the contractor was the company Kvinar d.o.o from Podstrana. The overall procedure consisted of documentation, cleaning, reconstruction, patination, final preventive protection and inspection of the interior of the sculpture. The procedures described in the paper represent the regular maintenance of bronze monuments and are carried out after the observed heterogeneity on the bronze surface. It was evident that the protective layer of wax had worn out, as well as the sealant between the connecting parts of the monument. Timely protection prevents more serious damage to both the integrity and the appearance of the sculpture.
