Summary/Abstract: The author recalls the childhood books with their particular smell of fresh print, especially ”The Book” (an encyclopedia for children received as a gift from his father) and later on the books borrowed from the library or from friends with all their heroes and stories with their capability to shape personalities. All these books read in the sounds of Mahler, Schumann, Straus, Stravinski, in an intermixture of senses formed the author’s taste for readings. All in all this, article an irresistible argument for reading.
