Summary/Abstract: We have taken the birth on the land where the parents have enjoyed a sense of honour, pride and authority. (In Sanskrit matro devobhava, pitro devobhava, it means parents are God) Generally being the oldest person they used to be the Head (Karta) of the joint family. Indeed with their vast experience they have been regarded as root of knowledge, wisdom and experience.
