Summary/Abstract: As objects of study within Romanian Language and Literature, the literary phenomenon and the linguistic phenomenon present specific points of convergence which facilitate the practice of an integrated didactic approach. The identification of these points of convergence can be done starting from the very school curricula. The linguistic competence and the literary competence are interconnected and “support” each other. Linguistic competence is required for the comprehension of the literary text. The potential comprehension difficulties of the literary text can be surmounted starting from the linguistic level. It is at this level that the dialogue of pupil with the literary work begins. In order to bring out the full formative and meaning-bearing potential of the literary text, an extremely complex approach is required, which starts from the elucidation of the literal meaning. Without a thorough understanding of this primary semantic level, the construction of signification / significations through interpretation / multiple interpretations is impossible. Thus, language classes, basically designed to form and develop linguistic competence, should not elude anticipation, evocations, signaling of concrete situations in which the studied linguistic phenomenon is relevant and impactful on the comprehension and pursue of the literary phenomenon.
