Summary/Abstract: The uprising of the Romanian school of composition at the beginning of the twentieth century brought with it the need to create a body to promote the works and rights of Romanian composers, a fact made on November 2, 1920, on the model of the National Society of Paris. The Society of Romanian Composers will also have representatives in the main cities in the country, the contribution of the Banat composers in its consolidation being indisputable. After the Second World War, Timișoara became a real music center with the establishment of the Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Art (1945) and the Romanian Opera (1946), training valuable musicians in all fields of musical art. The musical life will be boosted by the establishment of the ensemble "Flacăra", which included a literary cenacle, to which was added a musical cenacle, both with the purpose of promoting new artistic creations in various events. At one of the meetings of the music circle, the resolution of the Conference on the establishment of the Union of Composers of the R. P. R. as a unique organization of composers, music critics and musicologists was presented. Thus, SCR became the Union of Composers of the RPR. The first branch established in Cluj aroused great enthusiasm, so that, on December 2, 1949, a branch in Timișoara, a fact achieved by changing the name of the “Flacăra” cenacle in the Timișoara Branch of the Union of Composers from RPR.
