Summary/Abstract: The European Union has been given an important role in parental consent to protect the personal data of children online through The General Data Protection Regulation. Compared to the former Directive 95/46 / EC [1], Regulation 679/2016 [2] requires parental consent before information society service providers can process personal data of children under 16 years of age. This provision is new to Europe and faces many interpretations and implementation challenges.
