Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to propose a parallel reading of a moment in the history of eighteenth century in France, which it can be considered as one of the roots of totalitarian thought. The main analysis will focus on this moment which is the reactionary nobility speech, represented by Henri de Boulainvilliers, and it will be understood by reading the two key authors, namely Michel Foucault and Hannah Arendt. This double reading grid is set under the following principle: where Foucault asserts historicist discourse, Hannah Arendt denounces.
