Summary/Abstract: The study entitled Literature under Totaliarianism. Games with several strategies undelines the originality of Ion D. Sîrbu’s literature, one of the few Romanian writers that kept on writing for the posterity without accepting the inevitable compromises that would had had entailed the obeyance to the conditions enforced by the communist censure. The rationale of our research is to discuss and, if possibly, explain the connection between the aesthetic configuration of Sirbu’s literature and its ideological dimension which foreshadows the writer’s belonging to the liberal thinkers order. Hence Sirbu’s praising of values such as individualism, skepticism, relativism, lucidity, the respect for balance and reason, that is all the liberal set that always has made a stand against totaliarism and tacitly undermines it.
