Summary/Abstract: In the latter years of the Cold War, Nicolae Ceausescu was recognized abroad as a good and generous leader especially by those who had have trips and free medical treatment in Romania over the years. These were paid by Romanian citizens, without being aware of what it was happened with the money collected from taxes that they had paid for. For the foreign communists and Nicolae Ceausescu’s "friends" from the Middle East, the funds of Romanian Communist Party were a permanent source for air traveling, holidays and free medical treatment in Romania.
