Summary/Abstract: In this article, we describe a model for studying ideologically complex recent historical built heritage objects. The model provides a guide for making decisions about recent heritage based on architectural and urban spatial value, as well as the context of memory landscape and the sensitivity of memory heritage. The model combines the practices of architectural history and communication research with the aim of understanding changes in the meaning of objects over time, the need for rethinking and, when necessary, practical input for communication planning. The article uses the results of Anni Martin’s master’s thesis research as examples. The presented model is a further development of the master’s thesis for rethinking objects with a complex past.
