Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the spirituality of young people. The aim of this study is to show and characterize the desires and searches of young people present in the teaching of Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. Benedict XVI remarks that young people search for sense, aim and loan for what is great; they shape themselves and give direction for their future life. Pope Benedict XVI asks and emphasizes existential questions, which are particularly important at this stage of life. Pope Francis underlines the ability to dream and the enthusiasm that is characteristic for the young. He warns them of becoming prematurely old in their hearts. Both popes demonstrate many times and consequently that the only person able to respond to their yearning, their search, their anxieties and aspirations is Jesus Christ. Only He can fully understand, receive and fill with peace their restless hearts. It is only in the friendship with Him that a young person can learn the true love, find joy and deep happiness, and learn how to develop what is most valuable.
