Summary/Abstract: The study analyzes the changes in the legislation of the family council institution in relation to the socio legal evolution of the notion of family, indicating, where appropriate, the inaccuracies of the ad litteram application of the legal norm to the factual reality, finally responding to a simple questions: “was the Romanian family in step with the evolution of law?”.
