RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Summary/Abstract: Religious education in multicultural and multiethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina is extremely significant. The subject “Religious Education”, within Religious education, is organized in the elementary nine-year school in Bosnia and Herzegovina according to theconfessional division of students. The right to freedom of religion for students was madepossible through the subject “Religious Education”, but as the result of that there is a division of students on the basis of religion. Confessional school subject “Religious Education” is established only for members of the Islam, Catholicism and Orthodoxy. Members of other religious confessions and atheists are not recognized in the educational system in Bosnia and Herzegovina
