Summary/Abstract: The Article gives general information about the concept of the prepared proposal of a new Civil Code, on orientation of its the values, sources of inspiration including the current status of work on the code and the presumed development. As one of the reasons "pro" required adoption it indicates problems connected with differences in interpretation of individual provisions of the valid Civil Code and the application practice, including the courts and the subsequent different court decisions.
