Summary/Abstract: The oldest Serbian fiction films were found in 2003 in the Austrian Film Archive by Serbian archivists Aleksandar Erdeljanović and Radoslav Zelenović at the suggestion of their Austrian colleague Nikolaus Wostry. In fact, two-thirds of the films produced by Serbian film producer Svetozar Botorić (1857–1916) were found. He was practically the first local producer in the Balkans, behind the first two Serbian fiction films Karadjordje (1911, dir. Ilija Stanojevic-Cica) and Ulrih Celjski and Vladislav Hunjadi (1911, dir. Ilija Stanojevic-Cica). Obviously, he was an example of a successful and patriotic entrepreneur.
