Summary/Abstract: For the Republic of Poland, the area of key changes in the field of security and defense is the improvement of the command system of the armed forces within the framework of solutions adopted in NATO and most of the Alliance countries. An important role is played by the presence of allied troops in Poland, currently mainly American. In addition, the process of strengthening NATO's eastern flank is underway. Therefore, there is a justified need to improve the system of command and control of the armed forces. The aim of the article is to present the current changes in the system of directing and commanding the Polish Armed Forces, which evolved in the period from 2016 to November 2020. In the research, using the institutional-legal method and literature review, the main assumptions were verified and it was confirmed that the current changes in the command and control system have a positive impact on the quality of functioning of this system in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
