Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the understudied linguistic phenomenon of perception and pejoration. The introductory part deals with the definition of pejoration, slur words and pejorative lexis. Subsequently, the research gap in the domain of perception and pejoration in German and Polish has been pointed out. Based on three dictionaries, the analytical part focuses on compiling German slur words which originate in the perceptual domain and their Polish equivalents. Finally, the compilation of German and Polish slur words has been pondered comparatively from quantitative and semantic perspective.
