Summary/Abstract: Space as an object of land-use planning is being transformed by using appropriate tools. An important element in this is the spatial information infrastructure, which supports both the planning and the management processes of all types of infrastructure. Vector data should assign a significant role, which allows direct and indirect research related to the infrastructure. An important aspect of land-use planning is the appropriate approach to the existing condition of infrastructure and land-use development. Currently, decision-making by both local authorities and investors is conditioned by many factors that can be quantified using mathematical and statistical methods. These methods lead to the possibility of using decision support tools. They also help estimate the economic account related to the use of infrastructure and increase its efficiency in selected areas. The monograph aims to systematize knowledge in infrastructural and land-use planning, both on theoretical and practical grounds. The aim is also to define the infrastructure and indicate a new classification of particular infrastructures resulting from technological progress and changes in the surrounding world. Theoretical analysis and research show that local governments' challenges are making spatial data and information available to other local actors and researchers. It also allows local authorities to implement evidence-based policies.
