Summary/Abstract: The aim of the report is to look at the EU's long-term financial perspective from the point of view of Germany - the largest contributor to the EU budget and one of the largest beneficiaries of EU policies. Analyzing the recent changes in the German economy and the official positions of the federal government, political and non-governmental organisations, the report presents the importance of the EU budget for Germany and the related expectations of the German side with regard to the multiannual financial framework after 2013. The report emphasizes the political and economic context of the debate on the EU budget after 2013, and emphasizes the position of individual actors involved in the negotiations on Germany's side. The previous initiatives undertaken by the federal government will also be shown, as well as the conditions from which these actions result.
