Summary/Abstract: Finding and retaining a job as well as self-fulfilment of people with disabilities are accompanied by many obstacles and to a large extent influenced by attitudes of the society. These issues are being the focus of this book as well. The introductory chapters offer theoretical background concerning work and the development in the understanding of work by the society. Furthermore, the book looks at history and current situation concerning people with disabilities, their position in the society, and foremost, their opportunities at the labour market. The book offers best practices of support during preparation for and success at the labour market which can be seen in the Czech Republic and abroad. The concluding chapter presents results of a quantitative research focusing on attitudes of the Czech society towards inclusion at the labour market of people with disabilities. Factors influencing the attitudes include first-hand experience, type of disability or conditions in which a contact takes place. Age and education revealed to be less important intervening factors here.
