Summary/Abstract: Along with socio-economic developments, we are seeing further challenges to which business managers in various areas of the economy must respond. These changes are not only due to the increasing spread of new technologies, but also to global crises and trends. The need to respect the principles of sustainability throughout the supply chain is being increasingly emphasised. For this reason, this publication is devoted to selected contemporary challenges related to transport, forwarding and logistics in this context. The monograph is the fruit of cooperation between employees of the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Łódź and students and graduates of the following faculties: logistics and logistics in economy. The result is a study which considers the experiences of the youngest generation entering the labour market or taking their first steps in logistics-related professions. The interaction between students and staff has made it possible to draw several conclusions that can provide valuable guidance for both future researchers and practitioners implementing various types of solutions in business areas related to transport, forwarding and logistics.

- Summary/Abstract:Packaging is essential for the transport of goods. In the context of the transformation of the current economy towards a green economy, researchers of the subject pay attention to the issue of the materials from which packaging is made, whether it can be recycled (including to what extent), or whether it can be reused in the transport process. Hence, the impact of packaging on the environment and the greening of the supply chain through the implementation of appropriate packaging (including eco-friendly packaging) are increasingly being addressed in various scientific studies. These aspects have become an area of scientific consideration in this chapter. Based on a bibliometric analysis using the VOSviewer software, the key areas around which packaging in the context of a green supply chain is addressed in research are presented. The chapter also presents implemented solutions aimed at greening the supply chain around packaging in selected business entities.

- Summary/Abstract:The purpose of the study of this chapter is to analyze the problems of the forwarding process on the example of the company Landi Sp. z o.o. The authors, on the basis of conducted 40 free interviews forwarders and dispatchers, in enterprises Landi Sp. z o.o. described the specifics of the forwarding process through the prism of cultural differences affecting the course of the transport process at all its stages. A major challenge here is the phenomenon referred to as the 'intermediary phenomenon' whereby cooperating actors are joined by another who comes from a different culture. The conclusions indicate that from the point of view of the Polish carrier (subcontractor), as well as the Western customer, and the Eastern driver, the process is a mosaic of difficulties, where without adequate preparation in terms of intercultural competence, it is very difficult to avoid mistakes, misunderstandings, or keep emotions in check.

Also, an assessment of Poland's position in the development of e-mobility was undertaken. For this purpose, a comparative analysis was carried out with Germany, one of the European Union countries considered a leader in transport electrification. The analysis made use of pre-existing data from statistical databases, reports, and studies of industry services.
