Summary/Abstract: The present volume addresses issues related to seal matrices as sources much less frequently analysed, in contradistinction to impressions. It should be noted that it is also one of the first studies to address the subject of seals in a broad cultural context. The authors of the articles draw attention to the comprehensive cultural impact of seals up to the present day, also in terms of mass culture. Furthermore, the legal aspect covered in the publication, although belonging to the traditional research area, highlights problems that are still neglected in research.
