Summary/Abstract: The book has two parts: the first describes non-political organisations and political parties founded by tradesmen and merchants, the second is a selection of programme documents of the non-political and political movement. The passages devoted to organizational development are in the nature of an outline, which is deepened in the passages devoted to the Czechoslovak Trader's Party in Moravia as the unit that adapted with the greatest success in the political system. In the second section of the documents, we have included the programmes of the state political parties and trade satellites of the civic and socialist political parties. This study is a probe into the beginnings of the politicization of the Czech trade movement in Bohemia and Moravia at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Czech historiography shows certain deficits in the sphere of interest in the topic of political organization of the social class of traders, craftsmen and merchants at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. At the same time, it is a part of the middle class important for the stability of civil society.
