Summary/Abstract: The publication aims (as the first work on the market) to cover and describe aspects and principles of web cartography. The first theoretical part brings a clear definition of concepts and introduction to the context. The second part describes individual aspects of web cartography, including pillars for the creation of map applications: data and libraries. The publication is designed as a set of rules, principles, recommendations and methods for web map authors. The reader of this monograph should be oriented in the aspects and principles of web cartography, use the terms correctly, and last but not least should understand the process of creating a web map with all the cartographic essentials.
