Summary/Abstract: Adolescence is often referred to as a critical age in relation to physical activity in girls. The aim of this monograph is to map the area of physical activity and sport preferences of adolescent girls from the perspective of theoretical knowledge and own research using various objective (accelerometers, pedometers, heart rate monitoring) and subjective (questionnaires, recording sheets) approaches. Data related to selected parameters of physical activity and sport preferences of almost 7600 girls aged 15-18 years were analysed in the framework of sub-studies. The level of physical activity of adolescent girls remained relatively stable with age. The factors significantly influencing the physical activity of adolescent girls include the type of day and the amount of organized physical activity. Sports games dominate the preferences.
