Summary/Abstract: The dissertation approaches the political socialization of children and adolescents in two ways:1. from the general perspective of political culture and the model of contemporary active citizenship; 2. from the specific perspective of the fundamental rights of children and adolescents to participate in the decision-making system and to freely express their personal opinions.Political socialization is integrated into the general process of human socialization, and as a result we will find a common repertoire at the level of: factors, mechanisms and agents of socialization. At the specific level, political socialization will differ from general socialization only in the predominant content of the political in relation to the social. In order to support this point of view, we have chosen a classical definition of political socialization formulated by Percheron (1991), in which the author considers that the process of political socialization is explained by the formation of political personality, during which the individual appropriates knowledge, attitudes and values from the knowledge, attitudes and values of the political culture or cultures specific to the society in question. Political identity in this case includes the relationship of the children's political self to political symbols: the perception of the president, the mayor, the main political leaders and parties, political ideologies; but also social attitudes towards: social minorities, family, religious practice, local identity, national citizenship and European citizenship.
