Summary/Abstract: The study attempts to present a mosaic of sociological problems on the borderline between sociology and fiction. A specific variant of the ‘game with Gombrowicz’ is involved, with the hermeneutics he proposed and the methodological framework offered by Walter Benjamin. They provide a basis for discussing such diverse issues as, among others, the interpretation of the text, the composition/construction of the study, issues of the represented world of a literary work, the social framework of literary interpretation, the ways of presenting sociology on the pages of the university novel or the particularities of recording (and publishing) conversations with the writer, and, last but not least, the relationship between sociological writing and fiction.
