Summary/Abstract: Three categories can be discerned in the selection of these texts. The first consists of advocacy for the preservation of the former unified state and for a policy that would not lead us into international isolation and conflicts within the country and with the world. These texts (some published for the first time) represent personal beliefs and directions of engagement, but they are also illustrative of the thoughts and views of the majority of the then leading core in foreign affairs, as well as the moods of a significant part of the middle diplomatic staff.
