Summary/Abstract: This study is an attempt to compare Turkish and Bosnian phrasicons in the light of their linguistically most relevant features. One of the first questions that arose was whether a comparative rather than a contrasting study of the phraseology of these two languages was indeed posssible, given that they are unrelated. But since phrases are regarded as a linguistic symbol which is the lexicalized product of a mode of thought, culture, belief and many other non-linguistic factors, the cultural affinity between Turkish and Bosnian speakers prompted this approach.
